Threats have been made by phone to several North Island schools, police say.

Matamata College is being evacuated and the nearby intermediate school is in lockdown.
On social media, the college posted it had received a threat and was evacuating out of an abundance of caution.
Matamata Intermediate said it has been advised by police to lockdown.
Police said they were liaising with the schools and making inquiries.
