Over 150 people across the Auckland advertising industry came together last week to duck, dive and dodge for good at the second annual UnLtd: Dodgeball tournament.
The event, sponsored by Lumo and supported by IAB NZ, PrettyGood and The Communications Council, raises funds for UnLtd’s work supporting charities for young people at risk.
The competition on the courts was fierce with MediaWorks and Publicis proceeding to the finals. After a tight battle and plenty of drama, it was MediaWorks who took the win in the final seconds.
Scott Aitchison, Senior Account Director – Agency Radio at MediaWorks said: “The MediaWorks team was stoked to join yet another exciting UnLtd event. It wasn’t just about enjoying a fantastic day out with industry peers, but also about making a meaningful impact by supporting the Graeme Dingle Foundation and the work they do.”
Participating teams include Cartology, Saatchi & Saatchi, Spark Foundry, McCready Bale Media, JCdecaux, Lumo, oOh!media, MediaWorks, PHD, Dentsu Aotearoa, GroupM, Pitchblack Partners, Chemistry, FCB, Together, Graeme Dingle Foundation, Tracksuit and Stuff.
There was also plenty of competition for the coveted ‘Best Dressed’ title with teams getting creative with their outfits. The winners were Publicis Groupe with their cleverly designed Publicis Dodgeball superhero logos.
Ste Buck, Agency Account Director at Lumo said: “We love supporting UnLtd: Dodgeball and what a day it was – I can guarantee some sore bodies in the industry the day after! It was great to see so many friends across the industry at the event, getting involved in the best dressed competition and giving their all on the courts.
“Congratulations to MediaWorks for their victory in a dodgeball final Patches O’Houlihan would be proud of. And congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise funds.”
The next UnLtd Aotearoa sports competition is the UnLtd: Open golf competition on 7 November in Auckland.
