- After no one won the $1.1 billion Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday night’s drawing, the lottery game’s top prize climbed to an estimated $1.35 billion.
- If someone wins the $1.35 billion jackpot, it would be the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
- The next drawing falls on Friday the 13th. According to Mega Millions, six jackpots have been won on a Friday the 13th over the years.
For the 25th consecutive drawing, Mega Millions did not have a jackpot winner Tuesday night – pushing the game’s top prize to an estimated $1.35 billion.
If someone wins the estimated $1.35 billion jackpot, which has a cash option of $707.9 million, it would be the second-largest jackpot that Mega Millions has seen and the fourth biggest prize in U.S. lottery history.
Superstitious lottery players might keep a careful eye out for the upcoming drawing, which falls on Friday the 13th. Despite the arguably “unlucky” day, six Mega Millions jackpots have been won on a Friday the 13th over the years, according to the lottery game.
Regardless of the day of the drawing, the chances of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are incredibly slim. The odds stand at about 1 in 302.6 million.

Did anyone win Mega Millions last night?
No one won matched all six numbers to win the $1.1 billion Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night. Still, Mega Millions notes, more than 6 million tickets picked up the game’s non-jackpot tier prizes – ranging from $2 to $3 million.
Nationwide, 16 tickets matched all five white balls except the gold Mega Ball to win the game’s $1 million second-tier prize. Three of those tickets are worth $3 million each – because they included the optional Megaplier, which tripled winnings on Tuesday. The $3 million tickets were sold in Connecticut, Florida and New York.

When is the next Mega Millions drawing?
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. ET. The next drawing will be on Friday (the 13th).
How do I play Mega Millions?
To enter Mega Millions, players pick six numbers – or choose to have the lottery machine generate a random “Easy Pick” or “Quick Pick”:
- Five numbers will go from 1 to 70 (white balls)
- One number can be picked from 1 to 25 (gold Mega Ball)
If your ticket matches all six of the winning numbers from the drawing, you’ll win the jackpot. There are also smaller prizes depending on how many balls your numbers match.
The cost to play Mega Millions is $2 a ticket. You can add the Megaplier for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot).
