Outspoken Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna is a man on a mission.
Miguna, who recently returned to the country from exile, announced on Tuesday, October 25, that he will visit Kisumu this week.
Miguna Miguna is Kisumu-bound
In a statement on his official social media platforms, Miguna said he would make his trip to the lakeside city on Friday, October 28.

“I will arrive in Kisumu on Friday, October 28, 2022. Kenya is marwa!” he said.
Miguna arrived in Kenya on Mashujaa Day and was received by close family members and personal attorneys before attending the national celebrations at Uhuru Gardens presided over by President William Ruto.
He is expected to visit Kisumu, where he will interact with his family members and supporters who haven’t seen him in four years.
However, the news of his visit to the lakeside city has sparked mixed reactions from some residents, with the majority speaking out against it.
What lies ahead for Miguna
Some have even threatened to send him away should he set foot in the county.
One local stated that because the county’s inhabitants, particularly the youth, are suffering difficult economic times due to high levels of unemployment and financial constraints, Miguna’s visit is a waste of time and no use.

Another resident observed that the region supports former Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga, whom Miguna has criticised following his magical handshake with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
William Ruto lifts the red flags
After returning to the country, his family said they looked forward to his homecoming after being away for a long time in Canada.
Miguna’s return to Kenya was informed by Ruto’s move to lift the red flags imposed against him.
His elder brother, Eric Ondiek Miguna, told journalists that, as a family, said they had forgiven all who tormented their kin.
“While he was away, we felt a lot of pain because when one of you is taken away illegally it is not a good thing. We felt very bad, but we have forgiven his tormentors because he has been allowed to return. We are now at peace and happy,” Ondiek said.

Ondiek said they were pleased when their brother informed them that he had been issued his passport, and eventually, the red alert placed on him was lifted.
