Millwall have announced the club-record signing of Sparta Rotterdam winger Camiel Neghli.
The Algerian forward has seven goal contributions in 20 Eredivisie outings this season.
Neghli has penned a long-term contract and becomes the Lions’ fifth signing of the January transfer window.
Neghli played in FC Twente’s youth set-up before spending six years at Graafschap’s academy.
He progressed to play 61 times for the senior side before leaving to join Sparta in the summer of 2023.
Neghli – who has been capped by Algeria at youth level – made 51 appearances for Sparta, scoring 11 times and registering four assists.
Millwall’s previous record was broken in the summer when they splashed £2.5milion on Mihailo Ivanovic to sign the striker from Serbian top-flight side Vojvodina.
“I’m over the moon to welcome Camiel to the club,” said Steve Gallen, Millwall’s director of football.
“We’ve been monitoring him for a long time and believe he’s the right type of player to add real quality to the side.
“He has demonstrated the ability to not only operate as a right-winger, but also pose a threat in the number 10 role. He’s quick, dynamic, and whilst naturally left-footed, he’s not afraid to shoot and score goals with both feet.
“We’ve worked hard to get the signing over the line at this stage of the season. I would like to thank Alex Neil for his assistance to get Camiel in, as well as James Berylson, for his unwavering support to get the deal confirmed.”
