On MSNBC’s The 11th Hour, host Stephanie Ruhle once again dismissed GOP concerns about voter fraud and election integrity laws as being all about Republicans pushing “election fraud lies.” Doubling down on the insane commentary, guest, and turncoat Republican Charlie Sykes proclaimed that the GOP needs an exorcism and instead turned into a circus.
Turning to Sykes, Ruhle huffed that “The [Washington] Post is reporting that the RNC is now planning election integrity teams in states, and all of this is based on election fraud lies.” Ruhle then asked Sykes “why is this still going on?”
“It’s because they are held hostage by the most extreme elements of their own base. You and I both remember after Republicans lost in 2012, the Republican National Committee commissioned what they called an autopsy,” Sykes responded before adding “after the midterms, the party needed an exorcism. Instead, they’re just gonna keep doing the same old same old. They learned nothing from this.”
“Frankly, we’re just going to see this over the next two years. I mean the circus has come to town and it’s not going away anytime soon,” Sykes ended by saying.
Wanting to make sure there’s no voter fraud isn’t the result of “election fraud lies.” It’s something all Americans who care about the integrity of our elections should want.
Ruhle and Sykes would rather demagogue the issue than work to restore trust in American elections.

11:33:19 p.m. EasternSTEPHANIE RUHLE: The Post is reporting that the RNC is now planning election integrity teams in states, and all of this is based on election fraud lies. Why is this still going on?
CHARLIE SYKES: Well, it’s because they are held hostage by the most extreme elements of their own base. You and I both remember after Republicans lost in 2012, the Republican National Committee commissioned what they called an autopsy. You know, what should the Republican Party do better?
After the midterms, the party needed an exorcism. Instead, they’re just gonna keep doing the same old same old. They learned nothing from this. And I think this is the remarkable thing, is watching this party continuing to do the same thing again and again, not taking the opportunity to rethink its position, look in the mirror, think about broadening its appeal but going back to do this. But frankly, we’re just going to see this over the next two years. I mean the circus has come to town and it’s not going away anytime soon.
