The body of Jacob Ramsay, 33, was found at a rural South Taranaki property on Sunday. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police have released the name of the man found dead at a property in South Taranaki which is now at the centre of a homicide inquiry.
Jacob Ramsay’s body was discovered at an Upper Kina Rd address, in Oaonui, about 8.40am on Sunday by a person known to him.
Police said Ramsay was a father and was married. The 33-year-old’s family were informed of his death on Monday.
The circumstances of Ramsay’s death was now subject to a homicide investigation being carried out by Taranaki CIB.

With result of a post-mortem pending, Detective Inspector Brent Matuku’s only previous comment on the regarding the manner of Ramsay’s death was that there had been signs of physical trauma on his body.
On Tuesday, a specialist forensic team were due to continue their work at the Upper Kina Rd scene.
Officers would also be interviewing people who lived in the area.
After naming Ramsay, police offered his family its sympathies.
A man who lived on a nearby property on Upper Kina Road, who only gave his first name of Blair, previously said the area was “normally really peaceful” and he was shocked by the news of the death.
