The party also accused some expelled members of the party of being used by rival political parties to sow discord and create disaffection within the party.
NNPP national chairman, Dr Ajuji Ahmed, who disclosed this in Abuja, said a group of expelled members are fighting hard to destroy the party.
The chairman also emphasised the NNPP’s dual role as the ruling party in Kano State and constructive opposition in other parts of the country.

He issued a stern warning to members engaging in anti-party activities, stressing that such actions would not be tolerated.
He said: “We intend to continue to play our role as the ruling party in Kano State, and a viable and constructive opposition in all other parts of the country. Let me sound a note of warning to our members.
“This is a democratic party. However, we shall not tolerate members who engage in anti-party activities to do so with impunity. No matter how highly placed, all members are expected to remain disciplined and operate within the ambit of our constitution.
“The internal mechanisms of our party shall be guarded jealously. Finally, I have directed the Legal and Publicity directorates of our party to release to you all today, a comprehensive constitutional status of the party, as at this morning.”
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to counter any attempts by the national government to weaken opposition parties.
He said: “Some of the party crises are being engineered and sponsored. So INEC should have a way, as the arbiter, as the empire, that is subject to the responsibility of ensuring democratic development and the smooth development of the parties in the country.
“To come up with ways and means are to checkmate any untoward excesses of any national government power to weaken opposition in the country.
“I believe opposition, a vibrant opposition, is the oxygen of democracy in any given setting. So weakening it, or crippling it, will turn someone to killing democracy. If there is no oxygen within the system, it will certainly collapse.”
Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ladipo Johnson, dismissed a recent judgment obtained by a faction led by Dr. Aniebonam at the Abia State High Court as fraudulent and legally inconsequential.
He said: “It is pyrrhic “victory” and confers nothing to Chief Aniebonam and his co-travellers. The judgment is a default judgment that was obtained by fraud and therefore liable to be set aside, which process of setting same aside has already commenced.
“We emphasise that the judgment being paraded by the impostors is a pyrrhic victory that confers nothing but an empty shell because the Orders of courts cannot confer rights or powers over something that does not exist in law in the first place.”

He reiterated that NNPP’s official symbol remains the academic cap and book, registered with INEC and recognized under Nigerian law.
The NNPP remains steadfast in navigating these internal and external challenges, committed to fostering democracy and upholding party discipline.
