A retailer at the foodcourt, who did not want to be named due to fear of retaliation, said a “bunch of kids came to the shop and said we were accusing them of stealing”.
He said the group then entered the store and started fighting while hurling further abuse.
“I was getting punched, my dad was getting punched…my sister got kicked in the head and a vase smashed on her face. They were threatening us.”
He said the large group of youth were regularly causing trouble in the mall and having security guards did not deter them.
“There were too many kids…about 30 of them”.
