Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says there is no way to know how Optus “ever recovers” from its major data breach.
Mr Clennell said he would expect Optus to commit to “pay those passport application fees”, after the government called on the company to do this for affected customers.
“We need some advice from the government too, should you apply for one,” he said.
“We need some guidance on that and then, yes, they need to throw some extra resources at it to get them done.”
