PADUCAH — Some areas of Paducah are without power Sunday morning in the midst of Winter Storm Blair.
As of about 9 a.m., the Paducah Power outage map showed two main outages with over 1,600 accounts impacted.
Paducah Power System Director of Human Resources and Community Relations Andrea Underwood said utilities are likely to see issues because of ice weighing down tree limbs.
She said crews think they’ve found the issue with one of the outages and hope to resolve it with some quick tree trimming. They are also working to resolve the other outage.
Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative, which services businesses and residents in several Western Kentucky counties, is experiencing several outages as well.
“We are starting to experience some outages due to Winter Storm Blair,” a Sunday morning Facebook post from the utility read. “Currently, we have 10 outages reported, with the largest number of consumer-members being affected on Highland Church Rd. Crews have been dispatched and will work hard to restore service as soon as possible. Please be patient and check FB for the most up to date information!”
