Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson has pulled out of the 200m, just minutes before she was set to run in her heat.
Jackson lays claim to the second-fastest women’s 200m time ever, infamously eased up early in her heat in Tokyo and it ended up costing her a spot in the semifinals.
She carried an injury into these Games and withdrew from the 100m in Paris to focus on the 200m, but her lane is empty as the third group of women take to the blocks for this 200m heat.
It comes after her teammate, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, withdrew from the 100m on day eight.
