People tour Lake Michigan and the Chicago River on Aug. 22, 2022, on the Fred A. Busse, which was a fireboat for the Chicago Fire Department from 1937 until 1981. Hosted by Chicago Fireboat Tours, the tour began at the boat’s dock in DuSable Harbor, passed through the Chicago Harbor Lock and along the Chicago River, which, according to their website, is “navigating the same waterway where our vessel once fought fires.”
