Hemsworth’s family trip comes after the actor announced that he would take a step back from the spotlight following his contractual agreement to promote his Nat Geo show, Limitless.
The six-part series delves into the reality of mortality and the science behind living longer. While filming, Hemsworth was faced with his own mortality in the show and realised he needed to spend more time with his loved ones.
In an interview with News24, Hemsworth spoke about the importance of a work-life balance.
“A real urgency and a front-footed attack-mode approach to things have gotten me to where I am today. Now it’s about finding the balance and going, ‘Oh, okay, you’ve arrived at so many places that were distant dreams,'” he said.
“Am I going to appreciate these moments, or am I very quickly going to have something else ahead of me that I’m chasing and miss what’s right in front of me?”
