Warsaw has imposed sanctions against the Russian company Gazprom Export, reported AP.
The agency referred to the Polish Ministry of the Interior.
The Ministry announced that it had decided to freeze the assets of Gazprom Export and prohibit access to its funds and economic assets.
At the end of May, Poland, Bulgaria, Finland and the Netherlands lost the opportunity to receive Russian gas due to their refusal to accept the new payment system – in rubles.
Poland used to buy up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year from Russia. The contract expires in 2022 and Warsaw has repeatedly said it will not renew it.
Putin even instructed Gazprom, the Central Bank and the government to organize the transfer of payments in rubles for gas supplies to enemy countries by March 31. The European Commission claims that this practice is unacceptable, and German Economy Minister Robert Habeck says that the G-7 countries will not agree to this.
In addition, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia will not engage in charity: if there is no payment in rubles, then there will be no gas for the West.
We recall that earlier in conversations with Western heads of state, Putin assured them that payment in rubles would not be required immediately.
