Prices in Croatia 2025 – Crazy sexy fun traveler

11 Feb2026

I spent almost 7 weeks in Croatia in 2025, from mid-May till the end of June. This post will give you a brief idea about the prices in Croatia 2025 and how much I spent there. If you are planning a trip to Croatia, you might find this article useful.

It was my 7th time to Croatia already.

Let me start by saying that I was there alone and I did not travel around the country much. Yes, I did visit a few places but not a different destination every day or two. My last trip to Croatia in 2025 was mostly about slow travel and a yoga retreat.

Croatia prices in 2025

Traveling just before the summer season meant the following:

  • the closer to the end of June, the more expensive the accommodation

  • more crowded there every day

  • less accommodation options to choose from.

On my last visit to Croatia in 2025 I stayed at:

  1. Srima – Vodice (9 nights)

  2. Vodice (32 nights)

  3. Mirca, Brac island (5 nights)

  4. Zadar (1 night)

That was 47 nights and 48 days in Croatia. Almost 7 weeks in May and June.

How much I spent in Croatia in 7 weeks

Transportation

4.70 eur = train + bus from Snina, Slovakia to Kosice, Slovakia

1.20 eur = public bus from Kosice train station to Kosice airport

33.58 eur = flight from Kosice, Slovakia to Zadar, Croatia

58.59 eur = flight from Zadar, Croatia to Kosice, Slovakia

92.17 eur = altogether for the return flights from Kosice, Slovakia to Zadar, Croatia

This time I traveled with a 10 kg check-in suitcase which was more expensive than just traveling with a small hand bag only. But I would have not managed with just a small hand backpack for 7 weeks with laptop and all the other things I needed.

Someone I knew gave me a free lift from the Zadar airport to Srima.

I spent almost every day in Srima and Vodice cycling around on a bicycle that was included in my accommodation deal. Did not pay for taxis there.

One day my friends did a road trip to Sibenik from Vodice so I went there with them. Then I took a bus to get back.

2 eur = bus from Sibenik to Vodice

15.98 eur = bus from Vodice to Split

13 eur = ferry from Split to Supetar, Brac and back

15.81 eur = bus from Split to Zadar

5 eur = public bus from Zadar bus station to Zadar airport on my last day

20 eur = taxi from Kosice airport to Kosice city center (I had to spend the night in town at my cousin’s. The flight was delayed so I missed the last public bus from the airport and Bolt was busy so I needed to take an overpriced airport taxi).

I spent 169.86 eur on all the transportation from my home town Snina, Slovakia to Croatia, around Croatia and then back to Snina.

I did not pay for the accommodation in Srima – Vodice so let’s skip that one now.

750 eur = a 1-bedroom apartment with kitchen and bathroom in Vodice for 32 nights altogether. Normal prices are a lot higher than that but sometimes it’s good to know people who know people.

158.36 eur = 1 night in Zadar – I had to book a hotel (a lot more expensive) instead of an apartment because I had an evening flight and I needed to store my suitcase at the hotel until going to the airport. Usually it’s not possible to do so at apartments in Croatia, or at least sometimes you don’t know ahead of time. Which is why I had to pay double for a hotel room to be sure I had a storage place for my baggage. Ouch! Extremely expensive, I think.

745 eur = for a 6-day yoga retreat with accommodation, food, yoga and some other activities included (I won a second price in an IG contest and thus could pay just half price for the retreat so I decided to join last minute).

Reminder: accommodation in Croatia in winter should be cheaper. Also sharing the accommodation when traveling with other people (family or friends) would be, too. But as I traveled solo this time, I had to pay for everything myself.

I spent 1,653.36 eur on accommodation in Croatia.

Entrance fees

I visited the Krka National Park but it was a collaboration tour so I did not have to pay the entrance fees. It would have cost me 40 eur per person for a day entrance in June – yes, that’s the high season price. It’s a lot cheaper in spring, autumn and winter. But Krka NP is an amazing place and worth a visit any time of the year. You can book a tour to Krka NP here.

I also went to the Blaca monastery and Olive oil Museum Uja on the Brac island but both were included in the yoga retreat price already so no extra fees for me.

Krka NP is beautiful but you should go to Plitvice as well. It’s better to get your tickets to Plitvice online, especially when traveling there in summer or on weekends. That way you can be sure to get there on the day you desire avoiding the crowds at the ticket office.

Food and drinks

I dined out at restaurants just several times during my 48 days in Croatia. I’ve been vegan (eating only plant-based) since July 2013 and many Croatian restaurants still don’t offer quality vegan meals.

However, I did have vegan ice cream many times during my stay in Vodice and let me tell you, that’s expensive.

The rest of my meals were mostly fresh fruit and veggies from supermarkets or local markets. And although food in Croatia is not cheap, it was still cheaper than eating out at restaurants all the time.

I did not buy any bottled water during my stay in Croatia (I drank just tap water) but I did buy fresh juices a few times.

I quit drinking alcohol on the 1st January 2009. I usually drink just water and never with my meals so I rarely order drinks when at restaurants. But if you do drink alcohol, coffee or anything else when dining out, your Croatia expenses would be even so much bigger than mine.

I spent 971.89 eur on all the food and drinks during almost 7 weeks in Croatia.

My total cost of travel to Croatia

I bought 3 pieces of clothes while in Croatia: 2 pairs of shorts and a hoodie. And a few packs of natural hair color and 2 bottles of natural cosmetic oils. All those items together cost 41.72 eur. But I bought no souvenirs.

When I count all my Croatia expenses together, I get the following:

In 48 days in Croatia I spent 2,836.83 eur.

2,836.83 eur divided by 48 days makes 59.10 eur per day.

I think that is NOT cheap.

Croatia is getting too expensive.

More and more people are complaining about prices in Croatia.

But unfortunately, sometimes, higher prices do not always mean better quality.

As I said, I could have done it cheaper, especially the accommodation, if only I’d traveled off-season and was sharing with others.

TIP 1: I wrote a similar article about Croatia budget but a year earlier. Check here how much I spent in Croatia in 3 weeks in 2024. In that article I mentioned some unexpected family problems as well and how they impacted my trip in Croatia.

TIP 2: If you are interested, you can compare the prices in Croatia to prices in Zanzibar, an archipelago in Tanzania, Africa. Read this post to find out about Zanzibar expenses in early 2024.

I hope this article gave you a better idea of prices in Croatia in 2025. Is there something that surprised you?
