Tekken 8 just ended its closed beta hours ago. It was a three-day beta period, limited to people who registered for a code months ago and got chosen by the company. Players enjoyed the experience as it allowed them to play almost the entire game, which will be released on January 26, 2024. Additionally, the beta offered 19 playable characters including Jin, Kazuya, and Lili to name a few.
Players were glad to find returning features like “Super Ghost Battles.” This lets you fight against “ghosts,” which are AI-driven characters. Moreover, the AI moves according to the stored data from other players’ playstyle. It would also adjust to your skill level to push you into becoming a better Tekken player.
What players are most pleased to find is Tekken 8’s new feature: Lobbies.
The Fighting Lounge
The Tekken Fighting Lounge is divided into four areas, with the main two being the Battle Area and the Customization Shop, Iron Fist Outfitters. The Battle area is (obviously) the place where you can meet and fight other Tekken players. You could also watch ongoing matches.
When you try to find a match in Tekken, you can practice your combos in training mode just like in old times but you can also use the “Match Anywhere” feature. It gives you various options, such as modes you want to play, cross-platform matches, and side preferences.
It’s a relief that Tekken shows significant information about your enemy once you pair up with them. This information includes the platform they’re using, their disconnect rate, and region. Afterward, you can decide whether you want to play with them.
Furthermore, the other major area in the Fighting Lounge is the Customization Shop, Iron Fist Outfitters. It is a fun place to go all out and customize your avatar. You can enjoy what it offers through the money you collect from your fights.
Tekken 8 Closed Beta’s Issues
It is safe to say that players will have different experiences regarding the quality of the game and issues they may face. Most of the player base claimed that Tekken 8 closed beta ran smoothly. There weren’t any disturbing lags during online matches, save for a few times. Additionally, crashes and loading times were basically non-existent for most.
Unfortunately, few players shared that they indeed faced annoying issues. Here is a list of the most common ones.
If the company can fix these bugs, then it is safe to say that Tekken 8 looks promising, with players already saving up for its release in January next year.
