Residents block Accra-Tema motorway after fatal hit-and-run incident

A major traffic disruption has occurred on the Accra-Tema motorway, resulting in a standstill for both commuters and drivers.

Channel One TV’s Elizabeth Ocansey who was caught up in the traffic told CitiNewsroom that a hit-and-run incident caused the traffic.

According to her, some eyewitnesses confirmed that a vehicle hit a young girl killing her instantly on the motorway. Tragically, she was subsequently struck by another car.

This incident sparked outrage among the local community. In response, they blocked the road, refusing to let any traffic flow through until the arrival of the authorities.

The protest is taking place near the Interplast area of the motorway.
