Homegrown leading Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and maintenance service provider, ROTARY ENGINEERING PTE LTD, celebrated its golden jubilee in the chemicals and energy industry on 22 July 2022 at Marina Bay Sands, Roselle Simpor Ballroom. The 50th Anniversary Gala dinner was graced by Guest of Honour, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister & Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, and attended by more clients, government organisations, foreign dignitaries, and business partners, in addition to employees and associates of ROTARY.
Founded in 1972, ROTARY has established a significant presence in Southeast Asia and Middle East and has grown internationally in a highly dynamic and competitive landscape by tapping on its most valuable asset – People. Mr Roger Chia Kim Piow, Chairman and Managing Director of ROTARY, said that “we are a service company and it is our people who brought us to where we are now. We embrace diversity and develop talent. Today we have 22 different nationalities with us working across different countries”.
Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ROTARY and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to collaborate and explore joint efforts and projects in education, workplace learning and innovation for the chemicals and energy industry. One of the completed projects under this collaboration was the Rotary Management Programme (RMP) where fresh engineers undertake systemic training to become project managers. The programme is curated by the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning at SIT ([email protected]) to support the career development of the engineers. This programme tapped on industrial best practices and integrated it with practical case studies and multi-disciplinary project work of ROTARY. RMP is digitalised with a hybrid delivery using face-to-face session as well as online learning an d webinars. This collaboration is made possible with the support of SkillsFuture Singapore, who has been instrumental in the successful partnership betweenSIT and ROTARY.

“SIT is pleased to collaborate with Rotary Engineering, one of the pioneering local companies in the EPC sector. This collaboration brings new internship opportunities for our students, as well as establishes the Rotary Engineering Bursary to support financially disadvantaged undergraduates at SIT. We are also privileged to support the company’s efforts in workplace learning to build a futureready workforce. Congratulations to Rotary Engineering on its golden jubilee and we look forward to deepening our partnership in the years ahead,” said Mr Bernard Nee, Vice President (Industry & Community), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Mr William Chia, Executive Director of ROTARY, presented donations to support various initiatives that benefitted the poor and under privileged. Beneficiaries included Singapore Institute of Technology Bursary, Institute of Technical Education Monthly Financial Assistance Scheme, and the Assisi Hospice. A total amount of SGD160,600 was donated.
