PARIS. – SA Rugby said it is aware that Springbok hooker Bongi Mbonambi has been accused of an alleged racial slur directed at England loose forward Tom Curry during South Africa’s epic 16-15 Rugby World Cup semi-final win at the Stade de France.
A spokesperson for SA Rugby said they will be issuing a statement in due course on Sunday as the fallout from an intense play-off game takes another turn.
The match, which was settled by a late Handre Pollard penalty, was marred by a scuffle after the final whistle.
