Earlier this year Samsung announced that select 2021 TVs and monitors would be gaining access to game streaming through the Samsung Gaming Hub app. Today the company is starting to roll out the update that brings the Gaming Hub to those older models. So if you own one, you will have a new way to play games soon. All without the need for ethernet cables, desktops or laptops, or game consoles.
Although, gaming with those things is still fantastic. And we’re not suggesting anyone give those up or forgo getting into PC and console gaming. It’s simply a nice alternative to have Samsung bring game streaming to 2021 TVs and monitors. Especially if you have other people in the house that like to play games. Now there’s another way for that to be possible.
Game streaming on 2021 Samsung TVs is a simple process
You won’t have to do too much to get things working. In fact the whole thing is a pretty simple process. To start, you’ll need to make sure your TV or monitor is up to date. So check for the most recent firmware and download the update if needed. And in most or all cases it should be needed.
From there, you just need to connect a controller you want to use to play games, then select a service to start streaming with. Samsung Gaming Hub supports GeForce NOW, Xbox Game Pass, Utomik, and Amazon Luna. You’ll need to subscribe to any of those services if you want to stream though. In addition to being signed in with your credentials.
Luckily, singing in is a one-time thing so once you complete it the first time, you can stream games with minimal effort every time thereafter. Samsung brought the gaming hub to most of its 2022 TVs earlier this year. So this isn’t the first time people have had access to it. But it’s good to see the feature making its way to more users. As there wasn’t much point in rushing out to replace a TV that’s only a year old for this alone.
