The District Judge of Rouse Avenue Court also issued notice to all accused on ED plea seeking transfer of the case to another judge.On September 16, the ED quizzed Jain inside the Jail in relation to the Excise policy case.Special Judge Geetanjali Goel allowed the application moved by the ED seeking permission to question Satyendar Jain in the excise policy case.Recently the court also took cognisance of the Prosecution Complaint (Chargesheet) filed by the ED against Satyendar Jain, his wife and eight others including four firms in connection with the money laundering case.The ED on June 6 claimed to have seized Rs 2.85 crore in cash and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg from Satyendra Jain’s aides during its day-long raid conducted at various places across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). During these raids, the agency also seized various incriminating documents and digital records.

This is the second time that she has been summoned for questioning by Delhi Police for her alleged role in the case, officials said. A senior police officer said Fernandez has been asked to join the probe at 11 am at the office of Economic Offences Wing on Mandir Marg. “We need to scrutinise certain documents and also question her further in connection with the case,” he said. Last Wednesday, Fernandez was quizzed for over eight hours along with Pinki Irani, who allegedly introduced the actor to Chandrashekhar.

Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar to be questioned by ED
The Enforcement Directorate had issued a summon to Karnataka Congress chief D.K. Shivakumar in connection with a money laundering case. Reacting to the ED move, the senior Congress leader, who is currently busy making arrangements for the arrival of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in the state, questioned the timing of the summon. “In the midst of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the ongoing Assembly session, they have again issued me a summon to appear before the ED. I am ready to cooperate with the probe, but the timing of this summon and the harassment I am made to go through is coming in the way of discharging my constitutional and political duties,” Shivakumar, who is in Mysore, tweeted on Thursday.

Lebanese banks will close for three days amid mounting security concerns, local media reported. The Association of Banks in Lebanon announced the closure after angry depositors across the country stormed banks on Friday demanding their savings, according to al-Jadeed TV channel. A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the sparsely populated southeastern part of Taiwan on Sunday, the island’s weather bureau said, derailing train carriages, causing a convenience store to collapse and trapping hundreds on mountain roads.
