Mamelodi Sundowns is one of Africa’s biggest football clubs. Championed by businessman Patrice Motsepe, Sundowns have played against Egypt’s Al Ahly and Cȏte d’Ivoire’s Africa Sports. Michael Yormark, the president of Roc Nation Sports International which represents Sundowns, gifted American producer DJ Khaled with a football jersey!

As one of the top teams in Africa, Sundowns has received attention from sports fans across the globe. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday 5 October, the team shared a photo of American star DJ Khaled with a Sundowns football jersey.
“Masandawana, they ain’t believe in us – but DJ Khaled did! Thank you for the support DJ Khaled and we hope you enjoy the gift!” wrote the football club.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the award-winning DJ shared that the jersey was gifted to him by Roc Nation’s Michael Yormark.

Sundowns fans were excited to see DJ Khaled posing with their favourite club’s jersey while others thought the gift was “random”.
“We are the best with the best DJ, DJ Khaled,” wrote one tweep.
“This gotta be the most random link up ever,” wrote another tweep.
“You’re trying very hard shame to improve and developing your brand.”

SUNDOWNS PARTNERSHIP WITH ROC NATION SPORTS
Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z launched the sports management division of his record label, Roc Nation Sports, in 2013. The agency has Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, veteran Springbok Tendai Mtawarira, A.C Milan and Mzansi’s Mamelodi Sundowns under their belt.
Roc Nation Sports sealed the deal with Sundowns in September 2021. Michael Yormark, the president of Roc Nation Sports International, said the football team was one of the most iconic and successful football teams in Africa.
“The club is led by excellence; their core values are consistent with those of Roc Nation, making this a partnership based on authenticity,” said Yormark.
