The topic of Grace Tame’s allegations that she was contacted by a senior staffer of a government-funded organisation, which she did not name, and was asked to refrain from saying anything “damning” about Prime Minister Scott Morrison, has popped up.
Just hours after Ms Tame made the allegation in her National Press Club address yesterday, Women’s Safety Minister Anne Ruston said a probe had been launched.
Labor Member for Franklin, Julie Collins asked Mr Morrison if the results of the investigation would be released or “will he sweep it under the carpet, hide from the truth as he has done before and fail to take any real action?”.
Mr Morrison responded by saying “my government considers the actions and statements of the individual as it was explained, as absolutely unacceptable”.
“If anyone has any information on that, Mr. Speaker, then I would encourage them to bring it forward so the matter can be properly addressed.”
