Kaizer Chiefs have now signed a total of 12 players in the past year without any reward.
Last season, the club brought in a total of eight players but only finished 10th in the DStv Premiership making it their worst season in the Premier Soccer League(PSL) history. The players Chiefs signed last season are Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro, Jasond Gonzalez and Luke Fleurs.
Kaizer Chiefs have so far signed four new players
Fleurs was tragically killed in a hijacking without playing a single game for his new club. Gonzalez, who was on loan from Real Santa Cruz, failed to score a single goal. The big Colombian striker was one of the players Chiefs released last month.
Under new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Kaizer Chiefs have signed just four players so far.
Rushwin Dortley, 22, Left-Central Defender.
Bongani Sam, 26, Left-Back
Fiacre Ntwari, 24, Goalkeeper
Gaston Sirino, 33, Forward.
With the four new signings, it brings the total number signed players since 2023 to 12. Under Nabi, the club is expected to restructure and implement a different style of play. Having signed a top player in Gaston Sirino, Kaizer Chiefs appear to be on the right track.
Ex-Amakhosi midfielder revealed that the Chiefs were planning on loaning out players for the new season. Mdantsane, who joined the club last year, is likely to leave on loan with five other players. In the past, Kaizer Chiefs appeared to have signed players for the sake of signing, but under Nabi, the club is calculated.
