Witnesses reported that one group of men fired shots at another group of men. “The apparent victim fled the scene in a vehicle and was located in the 14800-block of Fraser Highway,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Tyner Gillies in a news release.
The victim had a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital. His injury is not life-threatening, said Gillies.
“The investigation is still in its early stages, but Surrey RCMP is currently of the belief that the two groups of males were known to each other, and the shooting is targeted,” said Gillies.
“The victim is well-known to police, and is believed to be involved in the drug trade.”
