The Six Nations reaches an exciting finale on Super Saturday this afternoon, with France, England and Ireland all still in the title hunt ahead of the last round of fixtures.
Many expect France to go on and comfortably claim their first title since 2022 against Scotland this evening in Paris, where their formidable points difference when compared to their rivals’ almost certainly means that any sort of win – try-scoring bonus point or not – will be enough to clinch the championship.
However, any slip-up from Les Bleus could well open the door for England, who are in Cardiff earlier in the afternoon to face old rivals Wales likely needing another bonus-point victory to really put the pressure on Fabien Galthie’s side, who are missing injured captain Antoine Dupont.
Wounded Ireland will attempt to do likewise against Italy in Rome first up today, while Scotland are also technically not mathematically out of the title race yet but would need an absolutely extraordinary and shocking sequence of events to unfold in order to win their first-ever Six Nations crown in 2025.
There is also plenty still to play for at the bottom of the standings, where Wales – whose record losing run now stands at 16 consecutive Test matches despite a recent resurgence under Matt Sherratt – will have ambitions of jumping off the bottom and avoiding a second successive wooden spoon at Italy’s expense.
