Weight has been an issue and a cause of criticism for Zion Williamson since he entered the NBA in 2019. The 22-year-old power forward missed the entire last season due to injury which some attribute to him not taking care of his body enough.
It seems that the former number one draft pick put in the work during the time off to come back even better. His trainer said this past summer that Zion is in ‘fantastic shape.’
Williamson’s recent interview appears to support the claim. “It’s one of those feelings whereI’m in the gym and something happens… I’m like ‘Oh man, I can really do that! That’s different!’” he said.
“I learned a lot from nutrition standpoint, from working out standpoint, how long I need to stay in the gym and most efficient way to workout.”
During the 2020-2021 season Zion averaged 27 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.2 minutes per game.
