New York: A dignified ceremony was held in recognition of a young student Ms. Ariana Akram’s fundraising for flood relief efforts in Pakistan.
This ceremony was hosted by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
She raised 56000$ for the flood victims , which she distributed to Prime Minister relief fund and also to the project by Sovereign order of Malta.
The project constructed 22 Climate resilient shelters under Health, Educational and Literacy Programme (H.E.L.P.) in Sindh which was worse affected.
The ceremony was held at the Permanent Mission Pakistan.
Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill congratulated and appreciated efforts of Ariana in mobilizing the flood contributions campaign.
He also briefed participants on The Order of Malta’s Response in the form of Climate Resilient Permanent Shelter for Homeless Families in a Flood Affected Village of district Sanghar Sindh Pakistan.
Ambassador Munir Akram, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan also congratulated Ms. Akram for her efforts and called it as an inspiration for others.
He presented a certificate of appreciation to young high school student Ariana Akram for raising funds for the flood victims in Pakistan.
