Pakistan Bomb Blast: The news of the bomb blast is coming out from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. According to the capital’s police, a policeman Adil Hussain was killed and other policemen, including two civilians, were injured in a suicide blast in a vehicle in Islamabad’s I-10/4 sector on Friday.
According to Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police Sohail Zafar Chatha, police spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area at 10:15 am. When the car stopped near the officers, the occupant of the car blew himself up. According to the police, it is being called a suicide attack. However, the police statement did not mention the number of people in the vehicle. Police have completely stopped the movement of vehicles in this area for the time being and the investigation of the matter is going on.
The reaction of political parties came to the fore
In a statement soon after the blast in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned and expressed grief over the killing of the policeman. He said that we salute the soldiers of Islamabad Police. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Umar said the presence of a suicide bomber in Islamabad indicated that the country was fast moving towards destruction.
Tehreek-e-Taliban took responsibility
According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the blast in Islamabad in a statement issued on Friday. Earlier in a tweet, Islamabad Police identified the slain officer as Head Constable Adil Hussain. It said that the terrorists had been targeting the police for some time to demoralize the law enforcement personnel.
Soon after the blast was reported, the Islamabad Inspector General issued orders for a “security red alert” across the city. In a tweet, the police said that strict action will be taken against vehicles without number plates and no one will be allowed to carry weapons.
