During Japan’s rainy season, continuous rain is expected. Okinawa Island entered the rainy season on May 21 this year, and by June, the rainfall increased significantly. Naha City recorded 763.5 mm of rain by June 19, the third-highest amount on record.
Looking ahead, Okinawa will experience continuous sunny days typical of summer. While there may still be sudden showers, these will be brief, unlike the prolonged rains of the rainy season.
