Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed some major transfer news!
The Brazilians are looking to challenge on all fronts this season under the guidance of a refreshed technical team led by Manqoba Mngqithi.
Manqoba Mngqithi’s job has become a whole lot more easier after the club reached new contract agreements with two senior players!
Mamelodi Sundowns legend Themba Zwane will remain at the club for the upcoming season after agreeing on a one-year contract extension.
Fellow star man Teboho Mokoena’s future has also been settled with the Bafana Bafana midfielder finally agreeing a new deal at the club!
Mamelodi Sundowns retain two star players!
Mamelodi Sundowns took to social media to confirm that Themba Zwane has signed a new one-year contract extension at the club.
The club also confirmed that midfield maestro Teboho Mokoena has agreed a new long-term contract at the club. Mokoena has agreed a new deal that will run until at least 2029!
Mokoena had previously been linked with a blockbuster move to English Premier League side Bournemouth FC.
His new contract means any potential suitor will have to buy him out of his contract at the club!
In other news, Mamelodi Sundowns will be without goalkeeper and captain Ronwen for the start of the upcoming 2024/25 PSL campaign due to injury.
The talismanic shot-stopper has been struggling with a shoulder injury since January, an injury he picked up while leading Bafana Bafana to the bronze medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
And now, reports suggest the Mamelodi Sundowns star has undergone surgery and will miss the start of the new season!

“The 32-year-old had been battling a niggling shoulder injury since the Africa Cup of Nations where he shone brightly for Bafana Bafana, and the injury would continue to plague him towards the end of the season,” a Soccer Laduma report read.
“As a result, Williams, according to Siya sources, is said to have undergone surgery, which is set to keep him sidelined for the start of the new Betway Premiership.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will look to Reyaad Pieterse, Jody February, Sanele Tshabalala and veteran Denis Onyango to fill the gap while their number one recovers.
