A suspect has been charged in Germany over the 2007 disappearance of 3-year-old Madeline McCann.
A man has reportedly been charged in Germany over the disappearance of British girl Madeleine McCann, almost 15 years after she vanished while on a family holiday.
The Portuguese prosecutor’s office confirmed the break-through on Friday, according to a report by AFP.
German police revealed in 2020 they were investigating convicted rapist Christian Brueckner, with officials saying they believe he killed her.
He is currently serving a seven-year prison term for the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old woman who was staying at the same Praia da Luz resort in Portugal that McCann vanished from.
The report did not name Brueckner but stated the man was residing in Portugal’s Algarve region in 2007.
