The Daily Telegraph’s Tim Blair says blaming climate change for destroying rock concerts is “the best idea” he has ever heard.
“It’s a terrific idea because, as I understand it, the rock festivals are where the young go to,” he told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“These are the people who are demanding climate action all the time, they want coalmines to close down and coalminers out of work.”
Mr Blair said the people pushing for these “have got to be craving some kind of loss themselves” but noted they are not so quick to condemn mobile phones – which contain rare metals and are made under exploitative conditions.
“Wouldn’t it make them feel better, as if they were contributing, if they had to go through the misery of never going to one of their music festivals?” he said.
