A MAN has been charged with terrorism offences after allegedly plotting to attack a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.
The 21-year-old is suspected of planning a terrorist attack at one of the megastar’s concerts in 2024.
Three planned Eras Tour concert dates were cancelled after the plot was foiled, and security at subsequent Wembley gigs was beefed up.
The unnamed suspect in Wiener Neustadt, near Vienna, is accused of making the explosive substance triacetone triperoxide and trying to purchase weapons illegally.
The suspect was arrested in August 2024, when bomb-making equipment and chemicals were found at the home of the then-19-year-old alleged IS fanatic.
Austrian media named the alleged terrorist as Beran A, though he has not been formally identified.
Prosecutors allege that the suspect was a member of Islamic State and that he researched bombs as well as spreading “propaganda material” online.
If convicted, the man could face up to 20 years behind bars.
Sources told The Sun at the time that the foiled attack was a huge shock to Taylor Swift and her entire team.
“The news has been kind of a shock for the whole team, as everyone was looking forward to those concerts in Austria as they are in the last part of the Eras Tour in Europe,” the source shared.
“There was a huge excitement to play in such a historical city, but also a big disappointment to have to cancel those shows.”
A source from Swift’s camp said “everyone was shaken and gutted”.
The plot targeted a gig at the Ernst Happel stadium, Vienna.
It comes months after the singer opened up for the first time about the Southport attack.
Three schoolgirls were murdered by Axel Rudakubana at a Taylor Swift-themed class in Southport, Merseyside, last year.
The evil knifeman, 18, who killed Alice, Bebe and Elsie, was jailed for a minimum of 52 years in January.
Taylor revealed that she met the families of the victims ahead of returning to Wembley stadium last summer.
She vowed to put on a brave face as she wanted to be in a happy place for them and not show her pain.
Speaking through tears from a hotel in London Taylor said: “I am going to meet some of these families tonight and put on a pop concert, you know.
