Teyana Taylor’s divorce proceedings from former NBA star Iman Shumpert have taken an ugly turn.
The Harlem-born singer and actress claims in new legal docs that the one-time New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets player smokes weed and is under the influence when he’s supposed to be caring for their two young kids. She also accuses him of failing to feed their daughters, Junie, 7, and Rue, 3, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
The “Gonna Love Me” singer claims Shumpert “consistently demonstrates a clear disregard for the safety of the minor children.”
Citing one example, Taylor, 33, says Shumpert once hired a rideshare to transport the girls unaccompanied to Chicago’s United Center while he had a private car service take him to the venue.
In previous divorce documents cited by TMZ in November, the “A Thousand and One” star accused her estranged spouse of being involved in multiple cheating scandals and “being extremely emotionally and mentally abusive.”
However, when announcing their split via Instagram on Sept. 17, she stated unequivocally that infidelity did not play a factor in the breakup.
“We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children,” the former Harlem nail salon owner wrote.
TMZ reported that Taylor secretly filed legal documents in Georgia last January, stating that the union with Shumpert was “irretrievably broken.”
The couple dated for years before getting married in 2016, and promoted their relationship on the 2021 VH1 reality TV series “We Got Love: Teyana & Iman.”
