BANGKOK — Thailand is planning a purchase order subsidy scheme for electrical automobiles made domestically of as much as 100,000 baht ($2,760) per automobile from 2024 to 2027 because it tries to place itself as a Southeast Asian EV manufacturing hub to draw international funding.
The current subsidy scheme ranges from 70,000 to 150,000 baht per EV, and expires on Dec. 31.
