There are three different stories that can be filed under the same headline, “the insane cost of net zero”, according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.

“IKEA in Australia has announced that prices will soar for things like flatpacks or tables and chairs by up to 80 per cent,” Mr Dean said.

“Story number two, the National Grid boss in Britain has warned of blackouts this winter from 4pm to 7pm, just when the kids get home and need dinner and a bath.

“But don’t think you can escape down to the pub because story number three in Britain – many pubs in the UK plan to ‘hibernate’ for the winter, i.e. close down until next spring to avoid spiralling energy costs.”
