Germany’s biggest airport is switching to a new summer flight schedule next month, with a range of new services to European and long-haul destinations. Here are the new flights that will soon be running from Frankfurt Airport across the globe.
As spring gets underway, many people in Germany are already looking forward to the Easter break and planning their summer getaways.
For those looking to fly abroad, Frankfurt Airport is set to offer a host of new flight destinations from Latin America to southeast Asia, with the first new services kicking off in April.
In total, Frankfurt’s summer schedule will expand its offer to a total of 275 destinations in 91 different countries. Here are some of the new flights to be introduced.
Bulgaria, Cyprus and Greece
Bulgaria’s Electra Airways is the latest newcomer to Frankfurt airport. Starting mid-May, the airline will offer twice-weekly flights to the Bulgarian coastal resort cities of Burgas and Varna in cooperation with SunExpress.
Discover Airlines is also set to expand its flights to destinations in sunny Greece this summer. From the end of May, the airline will offer a weekly service to Kefalonia, the gateway to the Ionian islands, with a service to Kalamata on the Peloponnese peninsula beginning in late June.
In the same month, Lufthansa will also begin flights to Larnaca on the island of Cyprus.

Italy
After a five-year absence, budget British airline easyJet is set to bring two Italian services back to Frankfurt, with twice-daily services to Rome and Milan Linate kicking off in April.
In the same month, Lufthansa is set to reintroduce twice-weekly flights to Lamezia Terme on Italy’s stunning southern coast.
German airline Condor will also launch a new route to Rome timed to coincide with the start of the Easter school holidays. From there, the service will continue to Palermo in Sicily.
The following month in May, the company will also begin flights to Milan Malpensa, offering another quick route to the Italian fashion capital.

France
For those looking to explore the world’s most romantic city this summer, German airline Condor will be adding flights to Paris from May, which will run alongside services offered by Lufthansa and Air France.
Meanwhile Air Dolomiti, one of Lufthansa’s regional airlines, will be flying to Figari on the island of Corsica every Saturday from May 17th.
Central and Northern Europe
Following the introduction of twice-weekly services to Berlin and Hamburg in early March, Germany’s Condor airport is adding two daily flights to Munich and Zurich and a daily flight to Vienna for the new summer schedule, as well as connections to the fairytale city of Prague.
Within the DACH region, Austrian Airlines will continue to offer flights to Linz, a charming city nestled on the banks of the Danube. This service was reintroduced for the winter timetable in Frankfurt and will continue in the summer with up to four daily flights.

Lufthansa, meanwhile, plans to resume five weekly flights to Bydgoszcz in northern Poland from the end of April – a city located around two hours south of Gdansk.
Adventurous souls looking to go further north can take advantage of Discover’s twice-weekly service to Kittilä in Finnish Lapland: a breathtaking arctic destination that can now be flown to all year round.

Global destinations
In addition to Europe, Condor is also enhancing its long-haul network from Frankfurt for the coming summer season.
As a new addition, the airline will offer twice-weekly flights to Panama City starting June 11th. Condor’s flight schedule will also feature Johannesburg in South Africa and Bangkok in Thailand as year-round destinations from this summer.
Staying in Asia, Condor plans to fly three times a week via BKK to Sanya from July, providing a new route to this holiday destination on the Chinese island of Hainan.
Meanwhile, Air Astana from Kazakhstan is expanding its offerings from Frankfurt this spring with three weekly flights to Almaty.
