The ‘Scrubs’ Reboot, Plus 6 Things to Watch on TV This Week

Between streaming and cable, viewers have a seemingly endless variety of things to watch. Here is a selection of TV shows and specials that are airing or streaming this week, Feb. 23- March 1. Details and times are subject to change.

Beloved doctors, postapocalyptic politicians and a new procedural

After a nine-season run, the original “Scrubs” wrapped up in 2010. Now, 16 years later, some of the beloved characters are back for a reboot. Zach Braff as J.D. and Donald Faison as Christopher are reprising their roles as doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital. Though things in medicine have changed and interns act differently now, the bromance at the center of the show is alive and well. The revival will consist of nine episodes, which will roll out weekly after the first two air back to back. Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Season 1 of the political thriller “Paradise” mostly takes place in a pristine underground bunker that houses 25,000 people after a global catastrophe. But the perfect veneer of the community begins to crack when the intentions of the bunker’s architect and billionaire backer, Samantha Redmond (Julianne Nicholson), come into question. The second season starts off right where the first ended, with the Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) leaving the bunker to search for his wife, which provides viewers with a perspective on the outside world. Most of the first season’s cast is set to return, with the addition of Thomas Doherty and Shailene Woodley. Begins streaming Monday on Hulu.

Dick Wolf, the creator of the “Law & Order” franchise, has a new show premiering this week. “C.I.A.” — a spinoff of another Wolf series, “F.B.I.” — stars Tom Ellis as a rebellious C.I.A. agent who has to work with Nick Gehlfuss’s tight-laced F.B.I. agent to solve cases in New York City. Monday at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Rooting out murderers and surviving in Fiji

In Alan Cumming’s castle in Scotland, there has been lots of treachery, broken trust and crushes on Rob Rausch during the fourth season of “The Traitors.” In the season finale, we will find out if the traitors, led by Rausch, will win the game or if the faithfuls will be able to derail their devious deceptions. Directly following the finale, the show’s reunion, hosted by the endlessly inquisitive Andy Cohen, will be available to stream. Begins streaming Thursday at 9 p.m. on Peacock.

In another game of strategy, this time in Fiji, the 50th “Survivor” season is beginning. This anniversary iteration has been in the works for a while, with fans voting on different elements that will come into play during the season. The cast also features returning players, including Mike White, the creator of “The White Lotus,” who was on Season 37. New episodes will air weekly. Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS and available to stream on Paramount+.

A Regency-era romance and a deadly rendezvous

While many people have been rooting for a love story for Benedict (Luke Thompson), the first half of this season of “Bridgerton” ended with a major eye roll (from me, at least) when he asked Sophie (Yerin Ha) to be his mistress and not his wife. The rest of the season’s four episodes will drop this week, and we’ll see how Benedict gets himself out of this pickle before the two surely have a happy ending. Begins streaming Thursday on Netflix.

Getting married and settling down in the Midwest isn’t all it seems to be — or at least, that is the plot of the new limited series “DTF St. Louis.” Jason Bateman, David Harbour and Linda Cardellini star as three people dealing with the loneliness of middle age, particularly in an area where everything seems to be perfect and white-picket-fenced. The title refers to an app that Clark (Bateman) shows his new friend Floyd (Harbour), which allows married couples to swipe right or left on singles looking for sex. But the result of their desire to spice things up? One of them ends up dead. Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
