The Miami Heat, as usual, have been star-chasing this NBA offseason.
Pick a big name, and the Heat have been linked to it. Plenty of observers have associated them with both Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell. This is nothing new – where a star is available, someone will assume Pat Riley wants to bring them to South Beach.
At the same time, Riley can’t just add whoever he wants. It takes two, as they say, to tango. The Heat are relatively low on assets. It’s probably not realistic to think they’ll add either of the top names on the trade market this summer.
That doesn’t mean they can’t upgrade the roster. It simply means they’ll have to settle on a lesser upgrade.

There will still be players available who the Heat would improve by adding ahead of 2022-23. For example, the Hornets are likely listening to offers for Terry Rozier.
Here’s one that Miami could make that ought to get their attention.
