Egyptian giants have reportedly turned down Kaizer Chiefs’ offer for Percy Tau.
The 30-year-old forward hasn’t been at his best this season for the Red Devils and there were rumours that the Bafana Bafana star wanted out. Under Marcel Koller, Tau has seen little game time and has hardly contributed to the team’s push for their 44th league title.
According to Kooora, Kaizer Chiefs made a bit for Tau but were told their offer was “of weak financial compensation.” Amakhosi have been linked with the former Mamelodi Sundowns for several months now.
Tau is one of the three players Koller is willing to sell for the right price. The other two Al Ahly players are Reda Slim, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha. Kingfut said Kaizer Chiefs are not the only club interested in Tau.
“Tau received offers from Gulf and South African clubs, but they were considered ‘very low’ by Al Ahly. The same goes for Moroccan offers received for Reda Slim and Saudi and Kuwaiti offers for Afsha.
“South African giants Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing Percy Tau, while Wydad and Raja Casablanca are keen on bringing Reda Slim back to Morocco. On the other hand, Afsha is a target for several unnamed clubs in the Gulf area,” said the publication.
Al Ahly are second in the Egyptian Premier League but have three games in hand over log leaders Pyramids.
Should Kaizer Chiefs make another bid for Percy Tau?
