A woman is reportedly set to be evicted from her flat in South London this morning as demonstrators gather to protest.
The private tenant, named as Lisa Johnson, 46, is allegedly going to be escorted from the property in Tooting by bailiffs at 10am.
According to activists, she has a 17-year-old son with ADHD and autism.
A number of protestors have gathered outside Anderson House in Fountain Road to try and stop the eviction.
Around 15 are expected from the Wandsworth Renters’ Group and Wandsworth Against Racism.
Andrea Gilbert, 33, runs Wandsworth Renters’ Group. She told MyLondon: “There are three of us at the property with more on the way.
“We don’t know the full details [of why she’s being evicted] but we know the bailiffs are meant to arrive at 10am.
“We’ve been here since 9am because sometimes they like to turn up a bit early and we’re going to prevent them from getting in.
“Hopefully, they take the hint and leave her alone.”
Tooting Ward Labour Councillor Paul White is also in attendance.
