Traders in Ghana operating under the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), have shut down their shops over what they termed as high cost of doing business.
According to the traders, their shops will remain closed until Monday, October 24, 2022.
Among other things, African Entertainment can confirm that the traders are also protesting because they claim the depreciation of the Ghana Cedi and high inflation rate have adversely affected their capital.
As such, GUTA is demanding the government should urgently address their concerns.
On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, members of the Council of State pleaded with GUTA members to rescind their decision but that did not work.
