The Springboks and Pumas recorded AWAY wins in the opening round of the 2024 Rugby Championship on Saturday.
The world champion Springboks demolished Australia 33-7 in Brisbane, with Argentina shocked New Zealand 38-30 in Wellington.
South Africa picked up a full-house of five log points for their victory, while Argentina left with four after their win.
Crucially, neither the Wallabies nor All Blacks could muster a log point.
As reported by The South African website, the Springboks’ win had no impact on the World Rugby rankings.
However, Argentina picked up two full log points for their victory and moved ahead of Scotland into sixth place.
The All Blacks lost two log points, but remained in third place in the standings.
New Zealand will host Argentina next weekend in Auckland (09:05, SA time), while the Wallabies will look to bounce back against the Springboks in Perth (11:45, SA time).
