NASHUA – Carolyn Walley has been named the new executive director of Great American Downtown.
Walley will officially step into the position on April 4, replacing former Executive Director Paul Shea.
“Great American Downtown grew tremendously under the leadership of Paul Shea. His commitment to the city of Nashua, combined with his communication and organizational skills brought GAD to new heights. We wish Paul well in his new ventures,” said Dan O’Donnell, president of GAD’s executive board. “Carolyn comes to us not only with past intimate involvement with GAD, but with a vast array of skills that will further enhance our organization. We are confident that her creativity, passion and enthusiasm, combined with her experiences working with a variety of other nonprofit organizations, will bring us to new levels.”
Walley worked with GAD from 2015-2019, assisting with growth, the organization’s newsletter and several events, including the Taste of Downtown, farmer’s market, the downtown scarecrow contest and the Winter Holiday Stroll.
“Carolyn has shared a number of new and exciting ideas she has to expand Great American Downtown’s impact on further promoting Nashua as a vibrant and viable city offering numerous opportunities to our residents and visitors,” O’Donnell said. “We are excited as we begin this new chapter with Carolyn Walley as executive director.”
