With just three weeks to go before the opening of the Paris Olympics, the water quality in the Seine river finally seems to have improved, with toxic bacteria coming down to acceptable limits, the Paris mayor’s office said in a statement Thursday, citing test results. The Seine is set to be used for the swimming leg of the triathlon as well as the open-water swimming during the Games.
