Burnley entertain Brentford at Turf Moor in a Premier League encounter between two teams fighting for survival.
Victory would see Burnley stay second-bottom but move to within seven points of safety if Luton beat Nottingham Forest in their clash, whilst Brentford can climb up to 14th with a win.
Team News
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-2 draw at West Ham.
Jordan Beyer (thigh), Nathan Redmond (hamstring), Lyle Foster (unspecified), Aaron Ramsey and Luca Koleosho (both knee) remain absent.
Brentford could welcome loanee, Sergio Reguilon back into contention after he missed their defeat at Arsenal with a hamstring injury.
Bryan Mbeumo (ankle) is a doubt as he nears a return but Christian Norgaard (back) is ruled out.
Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry (both knee), Kevin Schade (adductor), Ben Mee and Ethan Pinnock (both ankle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley meet Brentford at Turf Moor at 3pm GMT on Saturday 16 March, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley have won one of their three previous Premier League meetings against Brentford (W1, L2).
- Brentford lost their only previous Premier League visit to Burnley by a 3-1 result in October 2021.
- Burnley have scored three goals and conceded six goals in their three previous Premier League meetings against Brentford.
- David Datro Fofana is yet to score a league goal on his left foot for Burnley.
- Three of Yoane Wissa’s seven league goals for Brentford this season have been scored away from home.
Prediction
Currently ten points from safety and with games beginning to run out, Burnley know that this is a must-win going into the international break especially after a clinical first-half at West Ham – yet they were lucky to snatch a draw after their defensive discipline became sluggish in the second-half.
Brentford meanwhile didn’t really stand much chance of victory at Arsenal but they certainly gave the Gunners a good fight, even despite having had to defend a lot but this is the perfect chance to return to winning ways if can keep it tight defensively and be clinical up front.
Both teams however know that defeat here could be season defining but if Burnley can take heart from their first half at West Ham, I can see them getting something here but Brentford won’t make it easy if can play like they did at Arsenal but with more attacking fight in this game.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Brentford
