What clipped Shalulile’s wings and how he regained his flight: ‘I learnt that I can’t do it alone’

Mamelodi Sundowns’ high-flying striker Peter Shalulile found his scoring form at the right time, coming ahead of a crucial cup final.

Peter Shalulile at full flight is as fierce as an eagle, but what sets him apart as a poacher is he complements that aerial prowess with the grace of a hummingbird.   

Air Sha Sha, however, has spent the better part of this season grounded, with his wings clipped at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) which was supposed to be the peak of the high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns striker’s career. 

As the captain of Namibia, Shalulile carried the hopes of his country – especially coming into the tournament on the back of brilliant displays for the Brazilians.
