What’s new on Netflix in September? Cobra Kai: Season 5 (September 9)
The Karate Kid reunion series Cobra Kai is back. Sensei Terry Silver is expanding across town after the All Valley Tournament, living up to his “no mercy” motto. With Kreese and Johnny Lawrence out of the game, Daniel LaRusso needs help, and he’s enlisting old friends to save his dojo.
Do Revenge (September 16)
Starring Stranger Things’ Maya Hawke and Riverdale’s Camila Mendes, Do Revenge sees two unlikely allies coming together to help each other through the social difficulties of being teens. inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train, Do Revenge follows classmates at a posh school, one a former queen bee and the other a quiet new girl, as they agree to enact revenge on each other’s rivals.
Fate: The Winx Saga, season 2 (August 16)
Based on the Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club, Fate: The Winx Saga follows teens at a boarding school for faeries, where a group of girls bonds as each member develops her powers. The group must also protect themselves from ancient creatures who threaten all of existence. The Netflix original fantasy series returns for a second season, new on Netflix in September.
Lou (September 23)
During a massive storm, a young girl is kidnapped in her rural town. The girl’s mother teams up with a mysterious neighbor to search for her. The two women are tested as elements of their pasts begin to surface and the clock keeps ticking in their search.
Blonde (September 28)
Based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde is a fictional portrait of Marilyn Monroe from director Andrew Dominik, starring Ana de Armas in the lead role. Exploring Monroe’s life and career as an icon, the film has attracted some controversy already for its unconventional form. Blonde has also been making headlines before its release thanks to an NC-17 rating.
